The Indian Constitution provides values such as justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which are essential for every citizen to embrace. In any society, equality is a prerequisite for holistic and rapid development; without it, the progress of the nation is hindered. Today, it is critical to view men and women as complementary to each other.

However, with the increasing atrocities against women in our country and state, Yugaan Foundation has launched the 'Mardani' mission. To stop these atrocities, we must provide a new perspective to the coming generation while working on the intellectual, emotional, mental, physical, and social levels of the current generation. The name 'Mardani' evokes the bravery and motherhood of Rani Lakshmibai, who balanced her duty as a protector of her nation and a mother.

The Five Levels of Empowerment

Level 1: Child Protection ('Sakhi: Ek Vishwas')

  • Objective: To educate children on the difference between 'Safe Touch' and 'Unsafe Touch'.

  • Medium: Use of an animation video titled 'Sakhi: Ek Vishwas' and a physical doll to demonstrate safe and unsafe areas.

  • Sustainability: Providing free training to school teachers and parents so they can continue this education at the start of every academic year.

Level 2: Health & Nutritional Empowerment

  • Nutrition: Guidance on physical fitness, the importance of a balanced diet, and the specific role of fruits in daily health.

  • Menstrual Health: Scientific education regarding the menstrual cycle, hygiene management (choosing between sanitary pads and cloth), and addressing irregular cycles.

  • Maternal & Specialized Care: Anemia prevention for unmarried women; and pregnancy care, postpartum care, and the importance of breastfeeding for married women.

Level 3: Mental & Emotional Empowerment

  • For Adolescents (Ages 10-19): Activity-based programs focusing on leadership skills, gender equality, goal setting, and navigating the complexities of friendship and attraction.

  • Life Skills: Training in self-evaluation, communication, decision-making, adaptability, teamwork, and time management.

  • For Adult Women: Addressing psychological issues such as loneliness, gender inequality, marital stress, and various inferiority complexes through expert counseling.

Level 4: Physical Empowerment & Self-Defense

  • Mind-Body Wellness: Training in Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation (Dhyana) to maintain composure.

  • Safety Tactics (The 4 A's):

    1. Attitude: Your mindset in insecure situations.

    2. Awareness: Using intellect to scan and identify threats.

    3. Avoidance: How to bypass dangerous situations through awareness.

    4. Action: Specific moves and responses in an insecure situation.

  • Tactical Training: Intensive sessions on basic and advanced self-defense, including blocks, face/stomach punches, and various kicks (front, side, knee).

  • Traditional Weaponry: Mastery in the use of Lathi-Kathi (30-day training) and Nunchaku (30-day training).

  • Daily Object Defense: Learning to use everyday items (like pens or bags) as effective tools for protection.

Level 5: Economic Empowerment
